Early in 2003, the idea for the Sullivan Festival banjo was born. The challenge was to build a desirable instrument to extremely high professional standards which would be very affordable. A power packed banjo with the best components. A high quality professional instrument with just a bit less decoration but with the same punch and power of its more ornate counterparts. A banjo that would serve for many years and always stand tall in any bluegrass situation. The success of the Sullivan Festival was encouraging but requests kept pouring in for an inlaid fingerboard to complete the picture.

In early 2005 the decision was made to upgrade the fingerboard from dots to an attractive traditional inlay , the tuners were upgraded and old time ivoroid buttons were installed. We also decided to add the outstanding adjustable double hump Grover style tailpiece. This upgraded model now became the Sullivan Festival Deluxe. The same hands that build our famous Greenbrier, Radcliff and Bardstown models and created the Sullivan Festival banjo now build the Festival Deluxe. This Banjo is professionally shaped and finished by skilled craftsmen who have taken perfection to another level. This dedication is appreciated by beginning students and the professional player as well.
